Round table on “Corruption in Our Lives”

Extract from Protocol No. 8

Teaching staff of the “Transport Equipment and Transportation Organization” held a round table on the “Corruption in our life” topic, with students and undergraduates of 5B(6M)090100 – Organization of Transportation, Traffic and Operation of Transport, 5B(6M)071300 – Transport, Transport Equipment and Technology.

The purpose of the event is to reveal the concepts and mechanisms of corruption, to voice the legislative framework for combating corruption, the causes and conditions that contribute to it, and to talk about measures to prevent corruption.

The round table was attended by: the entire teaching staff of the “TT&OT” Department, students and undergraduates 5B(6M)090100 – Organization of Transportation, Traffic and Operation of Transport, 5B(6M)071300 – Transport, Transport Equipment and Technology.

The round table was opened by the presentation of the press. The Department of “TT&OP” O. Rabat that corruption seriously hinders the normal functioning of all public mechanisms, hinders the implementation of social transformations and modernization of the national economy, causes serious anxiety and distrust of state institutions in the Kazakh society, creates a negative image for higher educational institutions and is legitimately considered as one of the threats to the security of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

Presentations were made by:

– Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Zh. Zhanbirov – “Corruption as a social phenomenon”;

– Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor S. Li – “On the fight against corruption in education as a social institution”;

– Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor U. Murzakhmetova – “Say no to corruption!”

– Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor B. Uskenbayeva – “Methods of combating corruption”.

Students and undergraduates showed special interest, asked a lot of questions, expressed their point of view and came to the conclusion that each of them would contribute to the formation of anti-corruption measures to increase the wealth of the country and improve living standards.

Decided:

To conduct active propaganda in all available forms on anti-corruption topics among children and young people in order to educate them in a negative attitude to bribery, extortion, to cultivate respect for the law.
