On October 5, 2018, an event dedicated to the “Day of Languages” on the theme: “MANGILIK EL – MANGILIK TIL”, “ETERNAL LANGUAGE OF ETERNAL COUNTRY” was held in KazADI.

The purpose of the event: to teach students to work independently, to comprehend and realize the statements of the President in his program article “Orientation to the future: spiritual renewal”, to educate in the spirit of patriotism and love for the Motherland, to consolidate and apply the knowledge gained in three languages. Develop critical and logical thinking skills, cultivate a love of languages, the ability to demonstrate their abilities and knowledge gained in Kazakh, Russian and English.

The opening speech was made by the First Vice-Rector of KazADI, Professor G. Espayeva. She stressed the importance and relevance of the event, where students themselves showed a desire for spiritual renewal, one of the components of which is the study of languages, especially the formation of trilingualism in the Republic of Kazakhstan. The factor of multilingual education will certainly contribute to: increasing the competitiveness of the Kazakh language as the state language, productivity in the field of obtaining professional, socio-political, cultural information; Russian language status strengthening as the most convenient mean of interethnic communication and implementation of interstate relations with the CIS countries and other post-Soviet countries; promotion of English as a dominant foreign language to the level of Kazakh-Russian bilingualism. The new generation of Kazakhstan should know at least three languages, be fluent in Kazakh, Russian and English, in accordance with the language policy of the Republic of Kazakhstan, in order to implement the state program for the use and development of languages.

The Head of the Department of HK, GED&IS, Ph.D., Professor T. Nurpeisova noted that this event is different in covering two important and necessary issues at once – this is “Spiritual renewal” and “Trilingualism”, which are interrelated and complement each other. The features of the event are cognitive and educational.
Faculty members conducted a number of preliminary works – students were given the task to write an essay on the topic: “The Word is a great tool of life” in three languages, a wall newspaper was published, certificates were prepared for awarding winners and the best participants, i.e. students received motivation, which is an important element of such events.

The goals and objectives of the event were fully implemented. Students received emotional and aesthetic satisfaction. The contests held were no less informative. Each language has its own history, its own destiny, connected with the destinies of other languages. Through language, people find each other and learn to understand the spiritual culture, customs and rituals of the people. All knowledge, life experience of generations, their culture are transmitted through the word.
Such events aimed at fostering respect for languages, striving for a culture of speech, unite the multinational people of the Republic of Kazakhstan. Traditionally, the event ended with summing up and encouraging students.
The language festival introduced the peculiarities characteristic of each individual nation, inspiring students to study languages. Despite the fact that the presentations of the participants of the event were in different languages, the informative reports were understandable to everyone. Students are a special part of society, where young representatives of different nations cooperate and communicate on the basis of knowledge and common interests. And often they have an excellent command of the state language, the language of interethnic communication, foreign languages, thereby replenishing each other’s vocabulary outside of lectures in an informal atmosphere. The event was held with great emotional excitement, caused a strong impression and delight, and showed that we are all one people, one country.
