Applicants to doctoral programs must have at least 9 months of work experience and a master's degree. Foreign citizens may take part in the competition for tuition-free education under the state educational order only in cases provided for by international treaties and agreements ratified by the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Applicants to doctoral programs must register on the National Testing Center (NTC) website to take the entrance exam for their program group at regional testing centers from July 3 to August 3. They must also submit the following documents to L.B. Goncharov KazADI:
1) application (in any form)
2) copy of an identity document
3) education certificate (original, when submitting documents to the admissions committee)
4) official KAZTEST certificate, issued by the National Examination Commission

6) Medical certificate form 075-U, approved by Order No. DSM-175/2020 of the Acting Minister of Healthcare of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated October 30, 2020 "On approval of medical record forms in healthcare"
7) Six 3x4 cm photos
8) Personal record sheet or other document confirming work experience, certified by the human resources department at the place of employment
9) List of scientific publications for the last 3 years, along with a research plan
The original documents listed in this clause must be submitted along with their copies for verification. After verification, the originals are returned.
Registration for the entrance exam is allowed only once. Re-registration on the NTO website is not permitted. Document submission is done through the NTO website, where applicants fill in their personal information, select one university and one program group for doctoral admission, and choose the exam location. The NTO sets the exam schedule by region. Exam syllabi and schedules are made available to applicants three days before the exam date.
Applicants may take the entrance exam in Kazakh, Russian, or English by choice. All sections of the exam will be given in the selected language.

Вступительный экзамен в докторантуру проводится в компьютерном формате в региональном центре тестирования.
1. The computer-based doctoral entrance exam consists of the following sections:
- essay writing
- answers to exam questions in the program group profile
an interview with the applicant conducted by the KazADI examination committee
2. The entrance exam lasts 3 hours and 30 minutes, including:
- 20 minutes for the interview
- 190 minutes (3 hours and 10 minutes) for the essay and answers to exam questions in the program group profile
3. The maximum score for the entrance exam is 100 points

Admission to the doctoral program at KazADI named after L.B. Goncharov is conducted
from August 15 to 28 and from December 26 to January 10
of the calendar year.
Admission to the doctoral program is carried out by the Admissions Committee of KazADI. Admission of applicants to the doctoral program on a fee-paying basis is carried out on the basis of an international certificate confirming proficiency in a foreign language in accordance with European competencies (standards) of foreign language proficiency and upon receiving at least 50 points out of 100 possible on the entrance exam in the profile of the group of doctoral educational programs. Admission to the doctoral program under the state educational order is carried out on a competitive basis, provided that at least 75 points are obtained on the entrance exam.
In the case of equal competition scores, priority for enrollment in the doctoral program will be given to persons who have scored the highest score on the exam in the profile of the educational program group.
In case of equal indicators on the profile exam, scientific achievements corresponding to the profile of the educational program are taken into account: scientific publications, including certificates of scientific developments over the last 3 calendar years in rating scientific publications included in the Clarivate Analytics Web of Science database, publications of the Committee for Control in Education and Science (COKSON); certificates of awarding scientific scholarships and grants; certificates/diplomas for participation in scientific conferences and competitions.
Admission of foreign citizens to the doctoral program is carried out on a fee-paying basis. Free postgraduate education for foreign citizens on a competitive basis in accordance with the state educational order is determined by international treaties of the Republic of Kazakhstan, except for the scholarship program for master's studies.
Admission of foreign citizens to the fee-paying form of study is carried out based on the results of an interview conducted by the Admissions Committee of KazADI named after L.B. Goncharov during the calendar year.
Admission of foreign citizens is carried out 5 (five) days before the start of the next academic period in accordance with the academic calendar.
Recognition or nostrification of educational documents issued by foreign educational organizations is carried out in accordance with the Rules for Recognition and Nostrification of Educational Documents, approved by Order of the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated January 10, 2008 No. 8, in the manner established by law. Educational documents undergo the procedure of recognition of educational documents after the enrollment of individuals within 1 (first) academic period of study.
Documents in a foreign language must be submitted with a notarized translation into Kazakh or Russian.
