Applicants to doctoral programs must have at least 9 months of work experience and a master's degree. Foreign citizens may take part in the competition for tuition-free education under the state educational order only in cases provided for by international treaties and agreements ratified by the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Applicants to doctoral programs must register on the National Testing Center (NTC) website to take the entrance exam for their program group at regional testing centers from July 3 to August 3. They must also submit the following documents to L.B. Goncharov KazADI:
1) application (in any form)
2) copy of an identity document
3) education certificate (original, when submitting documents to the admissions committee)
4) official KAZTEST certificate, issued by the National Examination Commission

6) Medical certificate form 075-U, approved by Order No. DSM-175/2020 of the Acting Minister of Healthcare of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated October 30, 2020 "On approval of medical record forms in healthcare"
7) Six 3x4 cm photos
8) Personal record sheet or other document confirming work experience, certified by the human resources department at the place of employment
9) List of scientific publications for the last 3 years, along with a research plan
The original documents listed in this clause must be submitted along with their copies for verification. After verification, the originals are returned.
Registration for the entrance exam is allowed only once. Re-registration on the NTO website is not permitted. Document submission is done through the NTO website, where applicants fill in their personal information, select one university and one program group for doctoral admission, and choose the exam location. The NTO sets the exam schedule by region. Exam syllabi and schedules are made available to applicants three days before the exam date.
Applicants may take the entrance exam in Kazakh, Russian, or English by choice. All sections of the exam will be given in the selected language.

Вступительный экзамен в докторантуру проводится в компьютерном формате в региональном центре тестирования.
1. The computer-based doctoral entrance exam consists of the following sections:
- essay writing
- answers to exam questions in the program group profile
an interview with the applicant conducted by the KazADI examination committee
2. The entrance exam lasts 3 hours and 30 minutes, including:
- 20 minutes for the interview
- 190 minutes (3 hours and 10 minutes) for the essay and answers to exam questions in the program group profile
3. The maximum score for the entrance exam is 100 points

Admission to doctoral programs at L.B. Goncharov KazADI takes place
from August 15 to 28 and from December 26 to January 10.
Admission to doctoral programs is handled by the Admissions Committee of KazADI. Admission on a fee-paying basis requires an international certificate confirming foreign language proficiency in line with European standards, along with a minimum score of 50 out of 100 on the entrance exam in the doctoral program group profile. Admission under the state educational order is competitive and requires at least 75 points on the entrance exam.
If applicants have the same competitive score, priority for admission to doctoral programs will be given to those with the highest score on the exam in the program group profile.
If scores on the profile exam are the same, scientific achievements related to the program profile are taken into account, including publications over the last 3 years in peer-reviewed scientific journals indexed in Clarivate Analytics Web of Science or approved by COXON, certificates for scientific scholarships or grants, as well as certificates or diplomas for participation in scientific conferences and competitions.
Admission of foreign students to doctoral programs is based on a fee-paying basis.. Tuition-free postgraduate education for foreign students on a competitive basis under the state educational order is determined based on international agreements of the Republic of Kazakhstan, excluding the scholarship program for master's studies.
Admission of foreign citizens to fee-paying programs is based on an interview conducted by the Admissions Committee of L.B. Goncharov KazADI throughout the year.
Foreign citizens are admitted 5 days before the start of the next academic term according to the academic calendar.
Foreign education documents are recognized or nostrified according to the Rules for Recognition and Nostrification of Education Documents approved by Order No. 8 of the Minister of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan dated January 10, 2008, following the procedure established by law. Document recognition takes place after admission, during the first academic term.
Documents in a foreign language must be submitted with a notarized translation into Kazakh or Russian.
